Joining the Wine Shop Leek Wine Club couldn't be simpler...just let us know your full postal address and email contact details and you will receive:
- Monthly case deals by post
Typically saving at least 20% off our shelf prices and an opportunity for you to taste something new
- Email alerts with details of tasting events which include...
- Informal tastings, held in the shop at Russell Street, tasting wines in a fun and yet informative way
- Seated tutored tastings hosted by experts such as the winemakers themselves at local venues such as The Peak Weavers, The White Hart, and the Cricket Club
- Wine and Food Matching Dinners, including a full glass of wine with each course, carefully chosen to compliment the dish and introduced by an industry expert (held at The Peak Weavers, Leek)
- Wine Fairs, where you are free to roam and taste anything up to 100 wines with experts on hand to answer any questions (held at The Rudyard Lake Sailing Club, transport by bus included in the ticket price)
- Exclusive, competition beating offers on small parcels of limited wines
Highlights from the last 12 months include:
- Villa Maria Private Bin Sauvignon Blanc in magnums (equivalent to two regular 75cl bottles) for just £9.99
- Leading Costieres de Nimes producer Chateau de Campuget sending the utterly charming Francois to host a stunning five course dinner at the Peak Weavers
- 30% off a selection of Burgundies from prestigious negociants Louis Jadot and Bouchard Ainé
- Summer Wine Fair at Rudyard Lake Sailing Club where over a hundred Wine Club members had the opportunity to taste over 80 wines for just £10
- Taittinger Vintage 2004 champagne for the price of Taittinger NV (saving £12 a bottle)
- Chris Mooney of John E Fells with his inimitable pazzazz, tasting through (sizeable measures of) six different Port styles one cold December evening in the shop
We are already fully booked for our next tasting (of Rich, Round Whites...Chris' reputation going ahead of him once more I suspect) but we are taking bookings now for our Smooth, Medium Bodied Reds tasting (focusing on Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot) on Thursday 29th April, when we welcome Julia Langshaw, of McKinley Vintners to the Wine Shop Leek.
With wines from our favourite producer of Hawkes Bay reds, Alpha Domus, some right bank Bordeaux, some examples from South America and more, it will be a treat!
