An Introduction to Cognac and Armagnac 28th October

We are now taking bookings for our Introduction to Cognac and Armagnac tasting to be held on Thursday 28th October at the shop in Leek.

Neil Monyard of Compass Spirits will be guiding us through three offerings each from Maison Prunier and Comte de Lafitte.

Maison Prunier remain one of the few truly family owned and run companies of any size in Cognac. Their Cognacs are from across the region, use only the most minimal amount of caramel, and have an elegance that reflects their house philosophy of decent ageing and skilful wood use. We will taste their VSOP, Reserve of the Family and XO.

Situated in the heart of the region the cellars of Comte de Lafitte are in the capital of the area, and using selected growers and distillers across the region's three areas they use the traditional continuous still to make aged Armagnac of real depth and complexity. We will taste up through their 7, 12 and 20 Year Old.

As you can appreciate these are some very special rarities that you will only find in independent wine merchants and good restaurants. Tickets cost £20 in advance from the shop.

This is the very first time we have ventured into the world outside of wine and whisky in our tasting schedule this year and there are just twenty places available.
